Laurie Ternes

Laurie is passionate about helping companies grow and creating career advancement opportunities for employees. At IIS, she plays a key leadership role in developing and executing business strategies, focusing on growth through partnerships, collaborations, and teaming. Her career, dedicated to supporting and defending national security, is marked by integrity, dedication, innovation, teamwork, and excellence. She has extensive experience leading large government programs, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and driving growth in the defense and intelligence sectors. Laurie has a proven track record in systems engineering, intelligence analysis, general support, and security solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients. Before joining IIS, she managed a $140M annual revenue portfolio, secured significant contracts, and championed mentor-protégé programs. She takes pride in her contributions successfully transitioning staff onto new or follow-on contracts and exceeding client expectations. Laurie retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Air Force, where she oversaw a $1.1 billion intelligence budget, managed ISR assets across 70 locations, and contributed to national security policy. She holds M.S. degrees in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, a B.G.S. from the University of Kansas, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
